Summer has come upon us very quickly and it is going to fly by as well.
Last week I spent every morning with 20 3,4, and 5 year olds at Play~N~Praise Camp at Woodlawn. We had a great time learning about Noah and then we ended the week with a FUN DAY filled with hot weather, water fun and a petting zoo.
This week, I am spending the whole day with some great kids that just finished Kindergarten thru 5th grade and after the first day, I know that the rest of the week will be great but HOT!!!
Will post again later with some pictures of summer fun!!!!

37 years
I am not believing that the time is here. But after 37 years of teaching my mom has decided that she is ready to retire. She has been at River Bend Middle for 12 years teaching 7th grade and before that she was at Oxford Elementary teaching 6th grade. I am excited for her!
Tonight, her fellow teachers surprised her at the Crawdads game and she got to throw out the first pitch for the game. She was truly surprised and I know that she had a great time hanging out with the teachers and their families. Thank you Mr. Sigmon for organizing it all!
Love you mom!!!!

Anniversary
I can not believe that a year ago tonight... we had just left from our Rehearsal dinner in Lincolnton. I went to hang out with Adam for a few minutes before the craziness of our Wedding Day. I had been sick and I remember praying with him and asking God to heal me for my Wedding Day. The wedding day had been a long time coming and I had been dreaming of that day forever and being sick was not on my list of things for my wedding. So I left and was in the bed early anxiously waiting for the next morning where I would walk down the aisle to my soon to be husband!!!!
So now on the night of our 1ST ANNIVERSARY... TAKE A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE FROM A YEAR AGO WITH ME... ON THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE... BECOMING MRS. ADAM WHITENER!!!

Worshipping with the Angels
Over the last week, our church family has lost two very faithful members and then today we lost a former staff member.
Mr. Ed Biernacki passed away last friday evening while sitting in his recliner at home. Mr. Ed had a special place in so many peoples' hearts. He had just turned 91 years old. He was a WWII survivor and boy could he tell you stories about it. He loved to take pictures and he would email everyone with them. He was always at church events with a smile on his face and always greeted me with a hug. He loved the Lord and made such an impact on many people. Mr. Ed will surely be missed but now he is worshipping with the angels!
Mr. Ed Moorehead passed away Sunday morning. I have known Ed for a long time. His daughter was one of my SS teachers when I was a little girl. He also served our country in the Air Force! He was always very faithful to attend church until his health started to decline. Now he is also worshipping with the angels!
Brother Gerald Reeves went to be with the Lord this morning. Brother Gerald was the Associate Pastor at WBC for awhile and I was able to work for him for about 2 years I believe. He cared for and loved everyone that he came in contact with. He had impacted so many lives as a missionary, pastor, teacher, father, husband, grandfather and friend. I am so glad to have had the opportunity to have been able to know Brother Gerald. I know that he will be missed! But now he is worshipping with the angels and I am sure he is loving on his granddaughter, Faith, as well!!
It is sad that all of these men have left this earth, but I know that I will see them again because many years ago I placed my faith in Jesus Christ and will see them again in Heaven.
If you have never asked Jesus into your heart... what better time than the Easter season!!!! If you would like to know how or have any questions...send me a message!!!

The things you do....
Several weeks ago... Adam and I went out to feed the dogs and well Buggz was in need of some medical attention(I will spare you the details of this). So we head to the Vet not really knowing how much it would cost... so they kept him and had to fix that "first problem" and then the Vet called and told us that when they did an xray that he had some things in his stomach.... they said it had to be wood.... but that they would watch to see if it moved at all and if he could pass them. So the next day the Vet called again and said that they would need to do stomach surgery to get the things out. He ended up having pieces of plastic and wood in his stomach. So now you can call Buggz ...THE CHEWING DOG!!! So after 3 days we were able to bring him home but he had a cone, could not have too much to eat at a time, needed to be fed several times a day, had to take 4 different medicines, and had to be let out all the time and could not be around the other dog "Hobo".
So needless to say after 2 weeks of that, I was more than thrilled when the Vet released him and said that he could go back to normal activities; however, we needed to get the wood chips out that we had as the foundation in their lot.
So that leads me to the title of this blog... THE THINGS YOU DO ....FOR YOUR PETS!!!
Today, Adam's parents, me and Adam worked all afternoon taking out the wood chips and then spreading rocks...in the hot weather for the 1st day of spring. But by 8pm we had finished spreading 6000 lbs of rock in the dog lot.....now "BUGGZ" better not try to chew those!!!!

Then today at work, we went out to eat lunch for my birthday and had another birthday cake.... BUTTER CREAM ICING AND CAKE... IS MY FAVORITE!!!

It is crazy how fast time flies by....
Three years ago this week is when I met Adam for the first time. He called me on a Tuesday and we chatted on the phone for awhile. We realized that we had alot in common... Then we met for lunch on Thursday of that week and we sat and ate lunch and talked for 2 hours that day. Then then that Friday night we went out on our first official date, we went to eat at Flat Rock Grille and went to see Confessions on a Shopaholic!!! I still remember it and we still have the movie ticket from that date.
And well the rest is history!!

February update
I can not believe that we have already began the month of February and we have not even had any snow!!! It actually does not feel much like winter.... don't get me wrong, I am not a huge fan of the snow but I would like one really good snow and then it to go away and bring on the spring time! Spring time is my favorite time of the year!
Since I was off today, I spent the day cleaning and updating my house with some Valentine's decorations. Over the years I have stored just a few things and now that I have my house I plan on changing out certain items for the seasons.
This is my table cloth for my dining room table with a heart glass dish in the center... I need to get some candy or something to go in it but I have not made it anywhere to get some.
This is the kitchen table decor... it is not much... I am not the most creative person but I try with what I have and not have to spend much to make it happen.Oh and not really pertaining to Valentine's Day or February... Adam and I worked on the dog lot this morning. We had to put more wood chips out for the dogs because it was very muddy.
Here is the final product!

organizing
I have tried to spend some time organizing since I was off over Christmas... I wish I had the money to buy all the containers and storage units that I could use to make the space the Best Organized room; however, I don't so I will have to make do.
I started with our bills, I sort all of them on the bed and them put them in order of the dates so they could be filed.
This is the pile of the envelopes and the junk mail that needed to be shredded. I filled an entire trashbag full of shredded junk mail.
Then I filed all of the bills in our file box that we have. It sure does help us out now that finally have that organized.
Some of the things that I have tried to help keep our pantry in order is a canned drink box (you know the ones that you can punch out the end and it is ready for dispensing in your fridge) and I use it for canned soup.

This room has become a junk room. So I started organizing this room and this is the room that I can not seem to get the way I want.

Here is the room after... I know it is not perfect yet, But I am working on a few projects right now.
SPARE BEDROOM
This picture is sideways, but most of the clutter is the christmas decorations that I had to get put away.
Here it is now. We had to move the end tables from our living room in this room since we got new furniture.

What kind of organizing tools or units do you use?
